P53B - entranceThe history behind the core technology of Clavis Pharma goes far beyond the incorporation of the Company. Norsk Hydro has been a leading force within the commercial lipid research and development field, since the late 1980s.  By combining its extensive lipid expertise with pharmaceutical know-how, Norsk Hydro was able to invent new drugs through chemical synthesis of various lipids with existing drugs - this is the technological platform that Clavis Pharma is now harvesting across a broad range of therapeutic areas.

In 2001, Norsk Hydro partnered with NeoMed Management to spin-off all LVT related activities and assets into the Company. A second round of financing was led by the London and Boston based dedicated life science investor,MVM Life Science Partners LLP, in July 2002. A third round of financing took place in early 2005. Furthermore, in June 2006 the Company completed a private placement and a subsequent initial public offering totalling approximately NOK 242 million. The shares were listed on Oslo Stock Exchange with effect from 7 July 2006. In total, approximately NOK 365 million has been raised since 2001, on top of Norsk Hydro's significant investments prior to 2001.

The London-based dedicated life science investor, MVM Ltd., and the Norwegian private investment company, Braganza, invested in the Company in two subsequent private placements.

In June 2006, Clavis Pharma completed an Initial Public Offering of approximately NOK 242 million and the shares were listed on Oslo Stock Exchange with effect from 7 July 2006 (ticker CLAVIS).

In July/August 2009, Clavis Pharma raised NOK 136.8 million from a private placement and offering from existing and new investors to fund the further development of its pipeline of novel anticancer drug candidates.
